Parc de la Gaspesie: Skiing with Frenchies

Headed to this for some backcountry skiing goodness
As I sit in the McDonald's parking lot where I slept last night, still wrapped in my Teton Sports sleeping bag while folks buzz back and forth with wondering eyes, I watch snow falling from the Nova Scotian skies. It managed to rain every ski day here, but snow heavily on my two travel days. Reverse this, Maritimes, and we'd have something pretty special. As it stands, you're a wet mess (but I still love you).

I'm waiting it out. The Chic Chocs of Quebec are calling, and with an incredible abundance of new snow my skis want to be there. Besides, there's a slew of French Canadian ski mountaineers waiting for me to arrive. And who would want to disappoint? I may not be able to understand them, but (*whistle*) those Quebecois sure make the mountains look beautiful!

The snow is dropping back into rain and within a few minutes I'll check the forecast before traveling 8 hours north to the mountains in the most Northeast location I have set sight on. According to Google, my eyes are going to be pleased. And according to the Frenchies, so will my skis.
Optimistically wishing you all a fond "Au revoir!" from the pilot's seat of the Mazda 3. See you in Quebec.

I will not be snowshoeing.
Snow report looking good!
